GAAHBSU 37th Annual Legislative Virtual Conference


It's that time of year again. We are excited to announce the registration for the 2022 Georgia Alumni Association of Historically Black State Universities (GAAHBSU) Legislative Conference is now available. The 37th conference will be held February 8-10, 2022, VIRTUALLY. Albany State University National Alumni Association is the lead association for the upcoming conference. GAAHBSU is a consortium initially comprised of the National Alumni Associations of the three Georgia public historically black universities. The theme for the 2022 conference is “Partners in Excellence”.

The cost of conference registration is $25 and may be purchased by registering online by clicking on the button below or by mail at ASU National Alumni Office, Post Office Box 4969, Albany, Georgia 31706. All checks or money orders should be made payable to GAAHBSU. You may also purchase a full-page color ad in the conference souvenir booklet at a cost of $20. Please submit your camera-ready ads to Ms. LouAnn Gross at gross.louann@gmail.com or mail to ASU National Alumni Office. The deadline for purchasing ads and registering for the conference is January 25, 2022. Your support of this conference through the purchase of registrations and ads is greatly appreciated.

The 2022 legislative conference will provide a forum for alumni and current students to dialogue with state legislators, university presidents and other educational leaders. Alumni will be encouraged to address the universities’ common goals, objectives and concerns with the key state leaders. This year's keynote speaker is Mr. Richard Smith, Vice-President, Strategic Development for the National Historically Black Colleges & Universities Alumni Associations Foundation (NHBCUAAF). NHBCUAAF is a premier organization comprised of alumni leaders and associates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). NHBCUAAF is experienced professionals with the knowledge, skills, and expertise in providing technical assistance to HBCUs and other Institutions on a wide range of topics. Please join us this year as GAAHBSU continues to encourage the state officials, alumni and students to support the sustainment of Albany State, Fort Valley State and Savannah State Universities.
