It's an interesting tale of 'Love and Basketball' that concludes in tears of joy. We encourage our Wildcats to read this fascinating story that's being told by ESPN.
DC Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance Black Tie Scholarship Gala
The Metro DC HBCU Alumni Alliance (DCHBCUAA) supports the mission of HBCUs through scholarship, fundraising, alumni reclamation, and student recruitment. The DCHBCUAA members collaborate to strengthen the community through impactful programs (e.g., Higher Education, Hunger, and Health), and to support underserved students who will attend HBCUs. Founded in 2012, the DCHBCUAA, Inc. is made up of approximately 60 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with a reach of over 250,000 alumni in the DMV. We are a 501c (3) non-profit community-based organization that consists of HBCU alumni chapters and auxiliary organizations in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. We strive to educate our next generation, eliminate food insecurities, and promote a healthier lifestyle in our community. Our goal is to raise $50,000 or more during this year’s Gala… so, please consider donating in addition to purchasing a ticket/table/ad for the event.
The Digital Souvenir Journal Ad ($300/full page ad) is a new initiative of the DCHBCUAA that will be shared with our entire HBCU network, current and future sponsors, and partners. So, please consider this effort as a marketing opportunity for your business, Alumni chapter, church, or any other professional purpose. Please note: We have professional graphic designer support to help you perfect your ad once purchased. So, please email us at gala@dchbcu.org for questions. Otherwise, you will receive further instructions once ads are purchased.
This year’s Gala will include live local entertainment, seated buffet dining, a cash bar, a lounge area and much more! The Host Hotel has rooms at a rate of ($199/night). Rooms may be reserved here: Renaissance Hotel Reservation Link. This offer expires on August 19,2023 or once capacity is reached.
